Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) Chapter Development Committee

About

  • The EMEA Regional CDC is the subcommittee dedicated to the growth and support of CMT Association chapters across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This group serves as the primary liaison between our headquarters and the volunteer leaders building our community in this diverse and dynamic region.
  • While the UK has long been a center for technical analysis, our Association’s presence has grown steadily across Europe and the Middle East. The first charter in the UK was awarded in 1997, followed by Switzerland (1999) and the UAE (2007). This committee supports these established communities while fostering growth in new areas.

Mission

The EMEA Chapter Development Committee (CDC) oversees the expansion, sustainability, and health of our Association across the diverse regulatory and cultural landscapes of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Our mission is to strategically adapt global objectives to the unique needs of this region, ensuring a consistent and high-quality member experience. We focus on building institutional partnerships with major firms and supporting the development of strong local leadership in both established and emerging markets. We value diversity, adaptability, and professional integration, striving to position the CMT designation as the standard of excellence for technical practitioners throughout the EMEA financial community.

Understanding Groups and Gigs

What is a Group?

A Group is an ongoing, strategic body of volunteers who collaborate on a defined mission over an extended period. Groups have formal governance, defined membership, and regular meeting cadences. Joining a group means becoming part of a team committed to driving long-term impact within CMT.

What is a Gig?

A Gig is a short-term, tactical assignment with a clear deliverable and timeline. Gigs are ideal for volunteers who want to contribute their expertise to a specific task without a long-term commitment. They are time-boxed and goal-oriented.
