About
The Global Black Caucus is a community-focused committee dedicated to supporting and advancing Black professionals in the field of technical analysis. This group works to foster inclusion, provide mentorship, and create opportunities for its members within CMT Association and the broader financial industry. The formation of this caucus reflects our Association’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. As a global organization, we recognize the importance of creating dedicated spaces that support the unique experiences and career development of underrepresented groups within the financial industry, ensuring all members feel a sense of belonging.
Mission
The mission of the Global Black Caucus is to actively champion the professional advancement, mentorship, and inclusion of Black practitioners within the field of technical analysis and the broader financial industry. We are dedicated to providing a supportive, dedicated forum for networking, leadership development, and advocacy. Our core value is inclusion, as we strive to ensure that diverse perspectives and talents are fully represented across all Association platforms and within the industry. We work to reduce systemic barriers to entry and build a strong, visible pipeline of future Black leaders, ultimately fostering a more equitable and representative professional community that reflects the global nature of the markets we analyze.

Understanding Groups and Gigs
What is a Group?
A Group is an ongoing, strategic body of volunteers who collaborate on a defined mission over an extended period. Groups have formal governance, defined membership, and regular meeting cadences. Joining a group means becoming part of a team committed to driving long-term impact within CMT.
What is a Gig?
A Gig is a short-term, tactical assignment with a clear deliverable and timeline. Gigs are ideal for volunteers who want to contribute their expertise to a specific task without a long-term commitment. They are time-boxed and goal-oriented.

| What You'll Do |
Core Activities
Provide a supportive forum for Black members and allies for networking and mentorship. Develop initiatives to support career and leadership development. Host targeted events and content (e.g., webinars) focused on community needs. Develop campus and employer partnerships to build a talent pipeline. Conduct DEI education within the community. |

Recommended Time Commitment & Cadence
2–5 hrs/month; +5–8 hrs for major initiatives
At least quarterly, or as needed.
Member Appointment & Term
BYLAWS §8.02(E): The members of the committee shall be appointed by the committee chair with the approval of the Board to serve for a term of one (1) year or such longer period as the Board may determine, provided that no individual shall serve as a member of a committee (including anytime as committee chair) for more than four (4) consecutive years.
