Awards Committee

About

  • The Awards Committee celebrates excellence and selfless contribution within the CMT Association community. This committee oversees the nomination and selection process for our service-based awards, ensuring that the members who dedicate their time and talent to advancing our mission receive the recognition they deserve.
  • While the Annual Award dates back to 1974, the scope of recognition expanded significantly in the 2000s. 44The Service Award was created in 2005 to honor members who volunteered substantial time and energy, followed by the Memorial and Recognition Awards in 2012 and 2013, respectively, to honor an even broader range of contributions.

Mission

The mission of the Awards Committee is to celebrate and formally recognize the excellence and selfless volunteer contribution that drives the CMT Association’s success. We oversee a comprehensive and impartial nomination and selection process for our service-based awards. Our purpose is to shine a spotlight on the volunteers, mentors, and leaders who dedicate their invaluable time, talent, and passion to advancing our mission across the globe. We value gratitude, community spirit, and dedication. By publicly honoring these contributions, we inspire a culture of volunteerism, strengthen the bonds within our global community, and ensure that those who work tirelessly to elevate the profession of technical analysis receive the professional and peer recognition they profoundly deserve.

Understanding Groups and Gigs

What is a Group?

A Group is an ongoing, strategic body of volunteers who collaborate on a defined mission over an extended period. Groups have formal governance, defined membership, and regular meeting cadences. Joining a group means becoming part of a team committed to driving long-term impact within CMT.

What is a Gig?

A Gig is a short-term, tactical assignment with a clear deliverable and timeline. Gigs are ideal for volunteers who want to contribute their expertise to a specific task without a long-term commitment. They are time-boxed and goal-oriented.
