Ethics & Standards Committee (E&S)

About

The Ethics & Standards (E&S) Committee is responsible for upholding the high standards of professional conduct that define our Association. This committee, comprised of senior and independent Charter Holders, administers the Code of Ethics and ensures that all members adhere to the principles of integrity, competence, and judgment. From its inception, our Association has prioritized professional ethics. A code of ethics was among the first documents drafted by the founders to ensure members acted with professionalism. In 2015, the Association adopted the CFA Institute Code and Standards, and the E&S Committee is now the key body that administers these globally recognized principles for our members.

Mission

The solemn mission of the Ethics & Standards Committee (E&S) is to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity, and judgment that define the CMT designation. Comprised of senior and independent Charter Holders, we are responsible for administering and enforcing the CMT Association’s rigorous Code of Ethics. We operate as the crucial oversight body, ensuring that all members adhere to the principles of competence and ethical practice. By thoroughly and impartially investigating conduct complaints and maintaining a culture of accountability, we protect the reputation of the entire profession. Our unwavering commitment to ethical rigor safeguards the public trust and ensures that the CMT charter remains a respected symbol of integrity within the global financial community.

Understanding Groups and Gigs

What is a Group?

A Group is an ongoing, strategic body of volunteers who collaborate on a defined mission over an extended period. Groups have formal governance, defined membership, and regular meeting cadences. Joining a group means becoming part of a team committed to driving long-term impact within CMT.

What is a Gig?

A Gig is a short-term, tactical assignment with a clear deliverable and timeline. Gigs are ideal for volunteers who want to contribute their expertise to a specific task without a long-term commitment. They are time-boxed and goal-oriented.
